Welcome to the Chemical Biology Initiative!
The Chemical Biology Initiative (CBI) is designed to stimulate and encourage interdisciplinary biomedical/biotechnology research, technological development, and education at the cross roads of chemistry, physics, biology, and engineering at the University of Minnesota. Our central goal is to enable the development of a deeper understanding of biology that can be applied to the improvement of health.
Seminars and research talks provide a venue for enhancing dialog and research interactions across the interface of chemistry and biology. In addition to biweekly seminars organized by CBI, a comprehensive list is posted each week to promote chemical biology related seminars across the University.
Financial Sponsorship is gratefully acknowledged from the Department of Medicinal Chemistry
Chemical Biology Interest Group
The Chemical Biology interest Group is an informal collective of faculty from Medicinal chemistry, Chemistry, and Biochemistry, Molecular Biology & Biophysics, who meet to share current research.
Two lab groups present their current research on the second Wednesday of each month while classes are in session. The goal is to spur interdisciplinary interactions and problem solving across the interface of chemistry and biology.
If your group would like to present, please contact Carston R. Wagner.
